Many enthusiastic cyclists arrive in Marburg by travelling along the Lahntalradweg (Lahn Valley cycle route) from the north or south.
True to its name, the cycle route follows the banks of the river even after arriving in Marburg. From there, the town centre can be reached via one of the many bridges - the Elisabeth Bridge in Bahnhofstraße, the Mensasteg, the Luisa-Haeuser Bridge or the Weidenhäuser Bridge.
If you would like to explore the town without lugging baggage around, it is a good idea to leave any unwanted items in a locker at Marburg’s station or in the bicycle boxes next to Oberstadt car park in Pilgrimstein. From here you can reach the old town either by foot or by lift.
The Weidenhäuser Bridge has being renovated
Since August the 12th the bridge has been reopened for all traffic.
