"Marburg is where my heart feels at home"
This is how Prof. Satoshi Morimoto from the Japanese University of Tenri describes his memories of his previous trips to the university town of Marburg. A partnership has existed between the two universities since 1996 and so every two years symposia are hosted in the fields of religious studies and evangelical theology, alternating between Marburg or Tenri.
As Mr. Morimoto’s family live in Marburg, he has been a regular visitor in our university town since 1993. When asked what he most likes about Marburg, he responds with a smile that it is "the good people".
People in Marburg are simply "friendly and good people". Summing up his numerous past visits to Marburg, the linguisitics professor says that "Marburg is simply Marburg".
Professor Morimoto has never had any bad experiences in Marburg and, in particular, the castle of the Landgrave, the large amount of greenery in the town and the old town are some of his favourite things.
Due to his enthusiasm for the university town of Marburg, he is often on the road as a conference ambassador in order to attract more guests to the central German town.
