The Louis Braille Festival takes place in Marburg from 01.07.2016 – 03.07.2016. The event is hosted by "Deutscher Blinden- und Sehbehindertenverband (DVBS)" and "Deutsche Blindenstudienanstalt (blista)". Europe’s largest meeting of blind and visually impaired people offers over 3,500 attendees the choice of 76 individual events such as dance performances for blind spectators, a make-up workshop and the “Ultimate Saturday Evening Show” with host Alexander Mazza. At the same time, the programme also includes numerous sporting activities for the blind such as climbing, shooting and canoeing, as well as interactive events such as „Meeting place“, “It’s a Knockout”, exhibitions and much, much more. And of course, not forgetting our four legged friends – they are pampered in the guide dog lounge.
Irmgard Badura thinks that the effort is definitely worth it: “Here, as an almost blind woman, I don’t have to justify myself in anyway, here I am completely normal. This is like a barrier-free oasis for me!”
Horst Hartung and Rolf Schumacher: “We like Marburg a lot and are already looking forward to our next visit“.
