The municipality of Lahntal consists of seven districts and is idyllically surrounded by nature. The landscape is characterized by charming river meadows and hills covered with woods. This heightens the municipality’s appeal amongst cyclists and hikers. Popular destinations in Caldern are the hill “Rimberg” with its lookout tower and the old church with the remains of a monastery complex. In Goßfelden, the home of the painter Otto Ubbelohde who was the illustrator of the Grimm fairytales, is worth a visit.
