In the tradition of „dramatic reading“, you will be listening to well-known and lesser known fairy tales collected by the Brothers Grimm who studied law in Marburg, where they were inspired by the romantic and medieval flair of our university town.
My presentation is preceeded by an introduction to German Romanticism at that time (beginning of 19th century). As I am accordingly dressed, you will be able to seize contemporary social impact our town had on the literary work of the two brothers.
If you wish, we will finish this event by strolling along the daily walk the Brothers Grimm took to meet their university lecturer Carl von Savigny.
