The feel-good region between the Lahn and the Eder impresses with its variety of landscapes: north of Marburg, the forest “Burgwald” begins, Hesse’s largest connected forest, full of certified hiking trails. Whilst in the northwest, the valley of the Lahn, especially popular with cyclists, stretches forth, in the east, the almost treeless “Amöneburger Becken” joins the city with the same name on the basalt cone. Charming rural villages and stately farmhouses with half-timbered castles and fortress ruins dominate the southern region. There are no limits to active recreation here!
